Job Description: The Electrician in the Shipbuilding & Ship Machinery industry in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on ships and other marine vessels. The primary duties and responsibilities may include: Electrical Installations: Install electrical systems, wiring, and equipment according to specifications, blueprints, and electrical codes. Maintenance and Repair: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults and malfunctions in shipboard systems, including lighting, power distribution, motors, and control panels. System Testing: Conduct tests and inspections to ensure proper functioning of electrical systems, and perform necessary adjustments and repairs. Electrical Upgrades: Upgrade and replace outdated electrical components, equipment, and wiring to improve efficiency and meet safety standards. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and electrical codes to ensure compliance with regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine proper installation and connections. Collaboration: Work closely with other tradespeople, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate electrical installations and repairs in shipbuilding projects. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including repairs, installations, and inspections. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical problems using diagnostic tools and techniques, and provide solutions to improve system performance. Safety Measures: Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following electrical safety regulations.
Job Requirement: Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Relevant certifications or training in electrical systems and installations. Previous experience as an electrician, preferably in the shipbuilding or marine industry. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment. Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints. Proficiency in using electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
