Job Description: The Marine Surveyor in the Shipbuilding & Ship Machinery industry in Dubai, UAE, plays a critical role in assessing and inspecting ships, vessels, and maritime equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices. The primary duties and responsibilities may include: Inspection and Assessment: Conduct inspections of ships, vessels, and maritime equipment to verify their condition, structural integrity, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Safety Compliance: Ensure that ships and equipment meet safety requirements, including fire safety, stability, and emergency response protocols. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and documentation of survey findings, including observations, recommendations, and any non-compliance issues identified. Certification and Classification: Evaluate ships and equipment for certification and classification purposes, determining their suitability for specific maritime operations. Risk Assessment: Assess risks associated with shipbuilding and maritime operations, providing recommendations for risk mitigation measures. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with international maritime regulations, local laws, and industry standards, keeping abreast of any changes or updates in regulations. Client Engagement: Communicate and collaborate with shipowners, shipbuilders, insurers, and other stakeholders to address survey findings and provide guidance on compliance matters. Technical Expertise: Stay updated on advancements in shipbuilding technology, industry trends, and emerging safety standards to provide accurate and relevant survey assessments. Professional Ethics: Adhere to ethical standards and maintain impartiality and integrity throughout the survey process. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in professional development activities to enhance surveying skills and knowledge.

Job Requirement: Requirements: Degree or equivalent qualification in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience as a Marine Surveyor, preferably in the shipbuilding and maritime industry. In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations, classification societies, and industry standards. Familiarity with shipbuilding processes, equipment, and systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction. Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in complex situations. Proficiency in using surveying tools, software, and technical documentation. Valid certification or accreditation as a Marine Surveyor is preferred. Knowledge of relevant safety and quality management systems. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Flexibility to travel and work on-site for inspections, if required.
