Job Description: The Naval Architect in the Shipbuilding & Ship Machinery industry in Dubai, UAE, plays a crucial role in the design, construction, and maintenance of ships and marine structures. The primary duties and responsibilities may include: Ship Design: Design and develop ship structures, hulls, and systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements. Stability Analysis: Conduct stability analysis to determine the buoyancy, stability, and trim of ships, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. Hydrodynamic Analysis: Perform hydrodynamic calculations and simulations to optimize ship performance, including resistance, propulsion, and maneuverability. Structural Analysis: Conduct structural analysis to assess the strength, stability, and integrity of ship structures, considering various load conditions and safety factors. Technical Drawings and Documentation: Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for ship construction, systems integration, and outfitting. Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for shipbuilding, considering factors such as strength, weight, durability, and corrosion resistance. Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of ship systems and components. Job Requirement: Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture or a related field. Proven experience as a Naval Architect, preferably in the shipbuilding or marine industry. Proficiency in ship design software and engineering tools, such as AutoCAD, Rhino, and Maxsurf. Strong knowledge of naval architecture principles, hydrodynamics, structural analysis, and ship systems. Familiarity with shipbuilding processes, marine regulations, and classification society rules. Analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex design and engineering challenges. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
