Job Description:

The Circular Knitting Technician in Winnipeg is responsible for operating and maintaining circular knitting machines used in textile manufacturing. This role ensures the production of high-quality knitted fabrics by setting up machines, adjusting specifications, monitoring output, and resolving technical issues during production. The technician plays a crucial part in fabric quality control, ensuring that texture, pattern, and elasticity meet required standards.

Key responsibilities include preparing yarns, threading machines, adjusting tension, and calibrating machine settings for different fabric designs. The technician must also detect and correct faults, such as dropped stitches, yarn breakage, or uneven patterns, while minimizing fabric waste. Routine maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and replacement of worn parts, is essential to ensure continuous and efficient operation.

In addition, the role involves collaborating with production supervisors, designers, and quality inspectors to align fabric output with client and company requirements. The Circular Knitting Technician contributes significantly to the success of textile production by combining technical skill, precision, and attention to detail.

Job Requirement:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; diploma or certification in textile technology or machine operations preferred.

Experience: 2+ years of experience in textile or knitting machine operations.

Skills:

Proficiency in operating circular knitting machines.

Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.

Knowledge of yarn properties and fabric structures.

Ability to monitor production quality and make precise adjustments.

Good organizational and time-management skills.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended hours and handle yarn/material rolls.

Language: Basic to intermediate English communication for instructions and reporting.
