Job Description:
The Cloth Defect Examiner in Ottawa is responsible for identifying, recording, and classifying imperfections in textiles before they proceed to further production or distribution. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality by ensuring fabrics meet customer and industry standards. The examiner inspects cloth for defects such as broken threads, stains, holes, weaving faults, misprints, and dye irregularities. Each identified issue is logged and reported for corrective action.
Daily responsibilities include rolling out fabric on inspection tables, using manual or automated defect detection systems, tagging faulty areas, and coordinating with fabric cutters, dye technicians, and production supervisors. The examiner also contributes to improving quality processes by analyzing recurring defects and recommending preventive solutions. In Ottawa’s textile sector, this role ensures customers receive flawless materials that enhance brand reputation and reduce waste.

Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma; training in textiles, apparel manufacturing, or quality control is beneficial.
Experience: 1–2 years in fabric inspection, garment quality, or textile production preferred.
Skills:

Knowledge of fabric types, weaving, knitting, and printing processes.
