Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Employee Relations Manager to join our team in Toronto, Canada. As an Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for promoting positive employee relations and creating a harmonious work environment. You will provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR policies, labor laws, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives. Your role will involve managing employee relations issues, conducting investigations, and implementing strategies to maintain a positive and productive workplace. Key Responsibilities: Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor and provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and labor laws. Proactively address employee relations issues, including conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary matters. Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees, departments, and management, fostering effective communication and promoting collaborative solutions. Investigations: Conduct impartial and thorough investigations into employee complaints, misconduct, and policy violations. Gather evidence, interview relevant parties, and provide recommendations for appropriate actions. Employee Engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and productivity. Collaborate with various stakeholders to create programs that foster a positive work culture and improve employee satisfaction. Performance Management: Support the performance management process by providing guidance on performance improvement plans, performance evaluations, and coaching managers on effective feedback techniques. Policies and Procedures: Develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in compliance with labor laws and best practices. Communicate policy changes to employees and ensure understanding and compliance. Legal Compliance: Stay updated on employment laws, regulations, and industry trends. Ensure HR practices and policies align with legal requirements and make recommendations for necessary adjustments. Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs on employee relations topics, including conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and effective communication skills.

Job Requirement: Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional certifications in employee relations or labor relations are highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations or labor relations roles, with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices. Experience in conflict resolution and conducting investigations is essential. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and best practices in employee relations. Familiarity with grievance handling, labor union relationships, and collective bargaining agreements is advantageous. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees, management, and labor unions. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex employee relations issues, identify root causes, and develop strategic solutions. Attention to detail in conducting investigations and documenting findings. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and influencing abilities to build relationships and effectively manage employee relations situations. Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to think critically, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in complex employee relations scenarios.
