Job Description:
We are hiring a Biomaterials Engineer in Munich to design, synthesize, and evaluate novel materials used in medical implants, drug delivery systems, and tissue scaffolds. You will work in a multidisciplinary R&D team combining material science with bioengineering principles to create clinically viable solutions.
Key responsibilities include developing material prototypes, conducting biocompatibility testing, and improving mechanical and chemical performance. You will also participate in product development cycles, from early concept through to preclinical validation.
Job Requirement:
A Master’s or PhD in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering is required. The candidate must have expertise in polymer synthesis, hydrogel formulation, or ceramic composites.
Experience with FDA/ISO standards for medical materials, and familiarity with characterization tools like SEM, DSC, and FTIR, is important. Prior exposure to Class II or Class III medical devices is desirable. Strong documentation and analytical thinking are essential.
