Job Description:
We are hiring a Hydrological Modeling Specialist in Munich to simulate and analyze the behavior of natural and engineered water systems. You’ll develop digital models to assess flood risk, water supply reliability, and the impact of land-use changes on hydrological performance.
You’ll support public and private sector projects, including stormwater infrastructure, reservoir planning, and floodplain mapping. Your work will guide policy-making, infrastructure investments, and climate adaptation strategies.
This role requires a blend of field-based observation and advanced computational modeling.
Job Requirement:
A degree in Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, or Applied Earth Sciences is required, along with 4–6 years of experience in hydrological modeling.
You should be proficient in software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, MIKE SHE, or ArcHydro. Experience working with satellite or weather datasets and GIS platforms is important.
A strong background in numerical modeling, scenario planning, and regulatory reporting is essential. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (and ideally German) are highly valued.
