Job Description:
The Dock Loader is responsible for the efficient and safe loading and unloading of trucks at the store's receiving dock. This role involves a variety of physical tasks, including using pallet jacks and other equipment to move merchandise, verifying shipment contents against manifests, and organizing products for storage or distribution. The loader's duties include securing goods for transport, ensuring the proper use of safety equipment, and maintaining a clean and orderly dock area. This position requires a strong focus on safety and a high level of physical stamina to handle heavy goods. The dock loader works closely with delivery drivers and the receiving team to ensure a smooth and timely flow of incoming and outgoing merchandise. Their work is critical for the store's supply chain.
Job Requirement:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or dock loading role is essential. The candidate must be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy items (up to 75 lbs) on a regular basis. Experience operating a manual pallet jack and a good understanding of safety procedures are a must. The ideal candidate is a reliable, hard-working individual with a strong sense of teamwork. Excellent communication skills are needed to coordinate with delivery drivers and other staff. The position often requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings and late evenings, to accommodate delivery schedules.
