The Chimney Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the proper function, cleanliness, and safety of chimneys and flue systems in agricultural processing centers, rural greenhouses, food markets, and fisheries-related facilities in Rome. Operating under the Agriculture & Fisheries sector, this role supports safe heating, ventilation, and smoke extraction essential to the storage, processing, and preparation of agricultural and fish products.
Key duties include inspecting chimneys and exhaust systems for blockages, corrosion, or structural damage; cleaning soot, ash, and residue buildup; and conducting airflow checks to maintain efficient ventilation. The worker uses both manual and mechanical tools and ensures compliance with safety and fire prevention standards.
This position is vital to reducing fire risk, improving air quality, and supporting hygiene in food-handling environments. Tasks may also involve minor repairs and coordination with facility managers or health inspectors during routine checks.
Key Responsibilities:
