The Commercial Airline Pilot will be responsible for executing flight operations in rural and coastal regions, ensuring adherence to flight plans, safety protocols, and aviation regulations. Duties include conducting pre-flight inspections, managing onboard agricultural systems, navigating low-altitude flight paths, and coordinating closely with air traffic control, ground crews, and agricultural engineers.
This position demands precise flying skills and adaptability to variable weather, terrain, and mission-specific requirements. Pilots may also assist in the evaluation of aerial data for agricultural planning and sustainability efforts.
Candidates must hold a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) recognized by ENAC or equivalent, with endorsements for relevant aircraft types. Prior experience in agricultural or environmental flying is highly desirable. Candidates applying for the role of Commercial Airline Pilot in the Agriculture & Fisheries industry in Rome must meet the following requirements:
Licensing & Certification: Possession of a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued or recognized by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC), with appropriate class/type ratings for light aircraft or helicopters used in agricultural operations. A valid Class 1 Medical Certificate is mandatory.
Education: Completion of an accredited flight training program. Additional coursework or training in agricultural aviation, environmental science, or aerial survey techniques is advantageous.
Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of flying experience, preferably with exposure to low-altitude missions, crop spraying, aerial mapping, or coastal patrol. Experience operating in rural or environmentally sensitive areas is highly valued.
Technical Skills: Proficient in navigation, flight planning, weather interpretation, and use of onboard agricultural systems such as spray dispersal equipment or aerial imaging tools.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with national and EU aviation regulations, especially those concerning agricultural flights and aerial work operations.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in Italian and operational proficiency in English for communication with air traffic control and multinational teams.
Other Requirements: Strong situational awareness, decision-making skills, and the ability to work irregular hours during peak agricultural seasons.
