Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Livestock Farmer to join our agricultural operation based in Rome, Italy. As a General Livestock Farmer, you will play a crucial role in the management and care of livestock on our farm. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily operations related to livestock farming, ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of the animals. Key Responsibilities: Livestock Management: Take charge of the day-to-day management of livestock, including feeding, watering, and ensuring proper housing and shelter for the animals. Animal Health and Welfare: Monitor the health and well-being of livestock, promptly identifying and addressing any signs of illness or distress. Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as needed, and maintain accurate records of health-related activities. Breeding and Reproduction: Oversee the breeding program, ensuring proper mating, pregnancy detection, and successful delivery of offspring. Implement breeding strategies to improve the genetics and overall quality of the herd or flock. Feeding and Nutrition: Develop and implement balanced and nutritious feeding programs for various livestock species, taking into consideration their nutritional requirements at different stages of growth and production. Pasture Management: Manage pasture rotation and grazing patterns, ensuring optimal utilization of grazing lands and preventing overgrazing. Implement strategies for forage production and pasture improvement. Facility Maintenance: Maintain and repair livestock facilities, including barns, fences, and equipment. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met to minimize the risk of disease transmission. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, breeding and production records, health treatments, and other relevant data. Prepare reports as required. Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on local regulations and industry best practices related to livestock farming. Ensure compliance with animal welfare, environmental, and food safety standards. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with farm workers and other team members to achieve operational goals. Provide guidance and training to junior staff when necessary. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in livestock management practices, production efficiency, and animal welfare. Implement innovative ideas and technologies to enhance farm productivity and sustainability.

Job Requirement: Qualifications and Requirements: Previous experience in livestock farming, preferably with a focus on multiple species. Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and health management practices. Understanding of breeding and reproduction techniques for livestock. Familiarity with pasture management and forage production. Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment. Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills. Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in livestock farming. Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Fluency in Italian and basic proficiency in English (preferred).
