We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Greenhouse Technician to support our controlled-environment agriculture operations in Rome, Italy. This role is vital to ensuring optimal plant growth and productivity through the careful management of greenhouse systems and horticultural practices. The ideal candidate will have a background in plant science or horticulture and experience working in greenhouse settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and control greenhouse environmental systems, including temperature, humidity, ventilation, and lighting
Assist with the propagation, planting, and cultivation of vegetables, fruits, flowers, or ornamental plants
Apply fertilizers, nutrients, and pest control treatments as needed
Conduct routine plant health inspections and report signs of disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies
Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper hydration and soil moisture levels
Maintain detailed records of plant growth cycles, environmental data, and care routines
Assist with harvesting, grading, and packaging of greenhouse produce
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and biosecurity within the greenhouse facility
Support research, trials, or crop improvement programs as required
Requirements:
Experience working in a greenhouse or similar horticultural environment
Understanding of plant care, pest management, and environmental control systems
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
