The Biohazard Waste Disposal Technician in Hawally is a specialized role responsible for the safe handling, containment, and disposal of hazardous biological waste generated within healthcare facilities. This includes items such as contaminated sharps, blood-soaked materials, body fluids, and pathological waste. The technician plays a critical role in protecting public health, preventing environmental contamination, and ensuring compliance with local and international waste management regulations.
Daily duties involve collecting waste from patient care units, laboratories, and surgical rooms; labeling and categorizing it according to risk; storing it in designated secure areas; and transporting it to approved treatment or disposal facilities. The technician operates within strict regulatory frameworks and must wear proper PPE at all times. They also inspect waste containers for damage, clean spillages according to emergency protocols, and maintain detailed waste tracking documentation.
