Job Description:
The Central Sterile Supply Technician in Salmiyah is responsible for sterilizing, assembling, storing, and distributing surgical and medical supplies throughout the healthcare facility. This technician ensures that all reusable instruments and materials are decontaminated and prepared in accordance with industry and hospital standards.
Daily tasks include receiving contaminated instruments, performing pre-cleaning procedures, operating sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, gas plasma units), inspecting tools for cleanliness or damage, assembling surgical kits, and organizing supplies for distribution to various hospital departments. The technician also ensures that inventory levels are maintained and records are accurately updated.
This position is crucial to the smooth operation of operating rooms and outpatient clinics. A strong focus on detail, sterile technique, and compliance with infection prevention protocols is essential. The technician must work collaboratively with nursing, surgical, and inventory staff to ensure readiness and safety across the facility.
