Job Description:
The Central Sterile Processing Technician in AI Ahmadi is responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, inspection, and assembly of surgical and medical instruments. Working in the hospital's Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), this technician ensures all instruments are safe and ready for use in patient care.
Main duties include receiving used instruments from clinical areas, performing thorough cleaning and decontamination, operating sterilizers (autoclaves and gas systems), inspecting tools for damage, assembling procedure-specific instrument trays, and distributing sterile items to different departments. Documentation of sterilization cycles and inventory tracking is also part of the role.
This position requires strong organizational and technical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of infection prevention and sterile processing protocols. The technician works closely with OR teams and other clinical staff to ensure uninterrupted surgical services and patient safety.
