Job Description:
The Asbestos Abatement Specialist in Al Khor is responsible for the safe removal, containment, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials from buildings, industrial sites, and infrastructure in compliance with Qatari environmental health regulations. This role is critical during renovation and demolition activities where asbestos exposure poses a health hazard to workers and occupants.
Primary responsibilities include surveying and identifying asbestos materials, setting up sealed containment areas with negative air pressure, and executing the abatement process using approved techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE). The specialist must ensure minimal environmental contamination, prevent fiber release, and follow strict decontamination procedures before exiting work zones.
Tasks involve the use of HEPA vacuums, encapsulants, air filtration systems, and asbestos disposal bags. Regular air quality testing, site documentation, and coordination with safety officers and environmental inspectors are integral to this role. The specialist may also provide guidance to workers and clients regarding the risks and regulatory obligations associated with asbestos handling.
