Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Agricultural Food Safety Specialist to ensure the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of agricultural food products within Singapore’s Agriculture & Fisheries industry. The specialist will play a critical role in safeguarding public health by implementing and monitoring food safety practices across the agricultural value chain, from production to post-harvest handling.
Key responsibilities include developing, enforcing, and reviewing food safety management systems aligned with Singapore Food Agency (SFA) regulations and international standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000, and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). The role involves conducting risk assessments, auditing farms and processing facilities, and monitoring for contamination hazards such as pesticides, pathogens, and heavy metals.
The specialist will train farm workers and stakeholders on food safety protocols, traceability systems, and best practices to minimize risks and ensure product integrity. Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with agronomists, quality assurance teams, regulatory bodies, and suppliers to ensure end-to-end compliance.
A strong understanding of agricultural production systems, food microbiology, and regulatory frameworks is essential. The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening Singapore’s food security by promoting safe, high-quality, and sustainably produced agricultural food products.
