Key responsibilities include safely operating tractors, combine harvesters, seed drills, sprayers, ploughs, and other mechanized equipment to perform fieldwork efficiently and accurately. The operator calibrates and adjusts machinery for different crops, soil conditions, and tasks, ensuring optimal performance and minimal waste.
Routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs of equipment are integral parts of the role, along with monitoring machinery performance and reporting mechanical issues for timely servicing. The operator also assists with transporting equipment, loading and unloading agricultural materials, and keeping records of field operations, fuel usage, and maintenance schedules.
