Job Description:
We are hiring a Central Sterile Supply Technician in Seville to manage the sterilization and distribution of medical and surgical instruments used throughout the hospital. Responsibilities include receiving soiled instruments, sorting them, operating cleaning and sterilization equipment, inspecting for defects, and preparing trays and packs for clinical areas. You will coordinate with operating rooms, wards, and outpatient clinics to fulfill requests efficiently.
Documentation of sterilization processes, instrument tracking, maintenance of equipment, and inventory restocking are key duties. You will follow established protocols to maintain compliance with quality and safety standards. You will help manage equipment maintenance schedules, calibration checks, and troubleshoot processing issues. Participation in educational sessions to stay current with best practices is expected.
Team coordination ensures sterile supplies are delivered timely. You will communicate instrument availability, repair needs, and urgent requests. Adherence to infection control, safety, and waste handling regulations is essential. You will also contribute to workflow improvement initiatives and performance metrics tracking within the sterile services unit.
Job Requirement:
We are seeking candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent. Certification in central sterile processing (such as CRCST or equivalent) and at least one year of experience in a hospital CPS department is required. You must be skilled in using sterilization equipment including autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and low‑temperature sterilizers, with strong attention to quality control and documentation.
You should have knowledge of instrument taxonomy, tray assembly standards, and infection prevention. Demonstrated ability to identify instrument damage or malfunction is necessary. Familiarity with sterilization cycle validation and equipment maintenance procedures is required. Candidates must be organized, detail‑oriented, and proficient in basic computer tools for tracking systems.
Physical demands include lifting instrument trays, standing, and maintaining pace during high workload periods. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with surgical and nursing teams. You must follow protocols for waste disposal, PPE use, and safety regulations. Flexibility with shifts and occasional weekends is expected.
