Job Description:
The API Developer in Dubai plays a critical role in building and maintaining the middleware infrastructure that enables communication between systems, applications, and data layers. This role involves designing, developing, and documenting secure and scalable RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs that are consumed by frontend applications, mobile apps, and third-party clients. The developer collaborates with product teams, solution architects, and system integrators to understand data flow requirements and translate them into robust API solutions. Responsibilities include defining endpoints, authentication layers, rate limiting, logging, and error handling mechanisms. The developer ensures seamless performance through load balancing and caching strategies and conducts rigorous unit and integration testing. Working within Agile development environments, the API Developer must maintain code quality, adhere to security protocols (such as OAuth2, JWT), and ensure that APIs are version-controlled and well-documented using tools like Swagger or Postman. The position also involves monitoring usage patterns, analyzing logs, and implementing improvements to enhance speed, availability, and reliability. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a systems-oriented mindset and an ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in API development using RESTful services. Proficiency in API design principles, authentication/authorization standards, and backend languages such as Node.js, Go, or Python. Familiarity with API management platforms (Apigee, AWS API Gateway), documentation tools, and security best practices. Strong communication and system integration skills.
