Job Description: We are currently seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst to join our team in Surrey, Canada. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting financial data, supporting risk assessment and insurance pricing within the Finance, Banking & Insurance industry. Responsibilities: Data Analysis: Collect, validate, and analyze financial and statistical data to support actuarial calculations, including mortality rates, policy values, and premium projections. Risk Assessment: Assist in evaluating risks and determining appropriate reserves, premiums, and policy terms by conducting actuarial modeling and projections. Financial Reporting: Prepare actuarial reports and presentations, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and actuarial standards in all actuarial calculations and reporting. Pricing and Product Development: Collaborate with product development teams to assess pricing strategies, develop new insurance products, and analyze profitability. Statistical Modeling: Utilize statistical software and modeling techniques to analyze and forecast trends, conduct sensitivity analysis, and evaluate risk exposure. Actuarial Research: Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and changes in regulatory frameworks, contributing to the continuous improvement of actuarial processes.
Job Requirement: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Completion of actuarial exams (SOA/CAS) is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis software (such as R, Python, or SAS) and Microsoft Excel. Solid understanding of actuarial concepts, risk assessment, and insurance products within the Finance, Banking & Insurance industry. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with complex data sets. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with actuarial modeling software (such as Prophet or AXIS) is preferred but not required. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to contribute innovative ideas and solutions to actuarial challenges.
