Job Description:
The AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Investigator in Toronto is responsible for conducting detailed investigations into suspicious financial activities to detect, prevent, and report money laundering and other financial crimes. This role ensures compliance with Canadian AML regulations and protects the organization from financial and reputational risks.
Key responsibilities include reviewing flagged transactions, performing due diligence on high-risk accounts, gathering and analyzing financial data, and preparing investigation reports for senior management and regulatory authorities. The investigator collaborates with compliance, legal, and risk teams to develop mitigation strategies, monitor suspicious patterns, and implement AML policies. Additionally, the role involves supporting regulatory filings, maintaining investigation records, and staying updated on emerging AML trends and regulatory requirements.
This position requires strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills. AML Investigators play a critical role in safeguarding organizational assets, maintaining regulatory compliance, and mitigating financial crime risks. Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or related field; CAMS or other AML certifications preferred.
Experience: 3–7 years in AML investigations, financial crime prevention, or regulatory compliance.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations, investigative techniques, and compliance frameworks.
