Job Description: As an Assistant Fish Manager, you will provide support to the Fish Manager in overseeing fishery operations, conservation efforts, and the management of aquatic resources. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the implementation of fish stocking programs, conducting fish population assessments, and monitoring water quality parameters. You will assist in the development and implementation of fisheries management plans, including habitat restoration, fish tagging, and data collection activities. Additionally, you may assist in coordinating research projects, conducting fish health inspections, and collaborating with stakeholders such as anglers, conservation organizations, and government agencies. Your work may also involve assisting in the operation and maintenance of fish hatcheries, fish transportation, and feeding regimes. Attention to detail, knowledge of fish biology, and a passion for aquatic conservation are essential for success in this role.

Job Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Biology, Aquatic Sciences, or a related field. Previous experience or coursework in fisheries management, fish biology, or aquatic ecology is desirable. Understanding of fish identification, fish habitat requirements, and basic fisheries management principles. Knowledge of fish population sampling techniques and data analysis. Familiarity with water quality monitoring equipment and techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions. Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures for fish handling and health assessments. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different field sites as required. Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as fishery operations may require. Knowledge of fisheries regulations, conservation practices, and fishery enhancement programs. Ability to operate and maintain equipment used in fish hatcheries and fish transport. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and work assignments in a dynamic fishery management setting.
