Job Description: As a Food Safety Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and maintaining the integrity of the food supply chain. Your responsibilities will include conducting inspections of food processing facilities, farms, restaurants, and other food establishments to assess compliance with food safety standards and regulations. You will review documentation, collect samples for testing, and evaluate food handling practices, storage conditions, and sanitation procedures. Additionally, you will provide guidance and education to food establishments regarding food safety best practices and regulations. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of food safety regulations, and the ability to communicate effectively are essential for success in this role.

Job Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Public Health, or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered). Knowledge of food safety regulations, such as HACCP, FDA Food Code, or local health department guidelines. Understanding of foodborne illnesses, food handling practices, and food processing techniques. Familiarity with food safety auditing, inspection procedures, and risk assessment. Good communication skills to effectively interact with food establishment personnel and stakeholders. Strong attention to detail to identify potential food safety hazards and violations. Ability to interpret and enforce food safety regulations and standards. Knowledge of microbiological sampling and testing techniques. Proficiency in computer software and tools for report writing and data analysis. Excellent organizational skills to manage inspection schedules and documentation. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Certification as a Food Safety Professional or Food Safety Inspector is a plus.
