Job Description: Job Description for Forestry Field Assistant Staff: As a Forestry Field Assistant Staff, you will provide essential support to forestry professionals in the field. Your role will involve assisting with various tasks related to forest management, data collection, and research activities. You will work alongside foresters and other team members to conduct forest inventories, collect and analyze field data, and assist in the implementation of forestry projects. Your responsibilities may also include assisting with tree planting, site preparation, and vegetation management activities. Additionally, you may be involved in monitoring forest health, conducting wildlife surveys, and assisting with timber cruising and mapping. Attention to detail, physical fitness, and the ability to work in various weather conditions are important for this role.

Job Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or relevant certifications in forestry or natural resources are a plus). Previous experience or coursework in forestry, natural resources, or related field is desirable. Knowledge of basic forestry principles, tree identification, and forest measurement techniques. Familiarity with field data collection methods, including using GPS and other forestry tools. Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring manual labor in outdoor environments. Strong organizational and time management skills to assist in coordinating fieldwork activities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team under the supervision of foresters. Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and safety practices. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different work sites. Flexibility in working hours, as some tasks may require early morning, evening, or weekend work.
