Job Description:
We are hiring an Editorial Illustrator to join our publishing and media team based in Berlin. This role is ideal for an artist with strong conceptual thinking and the ability to transform abstract editorial ideas into engaging visuals. You will create illustrations for magazines, online features, opinion columns, and special publications, helping audiences visually interpret complex narratives.
You’ll collaborate closely with editors and writers to ensure your illustrations align with the tone, theme, and audience of each piece. You’ll be expected to produce original artwork under tight deadlines and within various editorial styles, from minimalist vector art to expressive mixed media.
Job Requirement:
Candidates must have a degree in Illustration, Communication Design, or Fine Arts, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in editorial or publication illustration. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is essential, with the ability to work both digitally and traditionally preferred.
A portfolio showcasing your range in editorial work—especially pieces with strong visual metaphor and storytelling—is required. Strong communication, adaptability, and time management are key. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German will assist in working with local publications.
