Job Description:
We are hiring a traditional Lithography Artist to join our heritage printmaking studio in Hamburg. This role is perfect for a printmaker who specializes in stone or plate lithography and seeks to work in an environment that values fine craftsmanship, experimentation, and preservation of analog techniques.
You will be responsible for designing, preparing, and executing lithographic prints for limited edition art, collaborations with contemporary artists, and archival projects. Tasks include drawing directly on stone or aluminum plates, etching, inking, press operation, and curating final prints for gallery exhibition or client delivery.
Job Requirement:
Applicants should have a degree in Fine Arts or Printmaking with a specialization in lithography, and at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a professional print studio. Mastery of traditional materials—stones, presses, chemicals—and manual printing processes is essential.
Attention to detail, patience, and a deep respect for historic processes are crucial. A working portfolio showcasing stone or plate lithographs is required. Candidates must be comfortable working in a studio environment, lifting heavy stones, and collaborating with fellow artists. Fluency in English is required; German language skills will be an asset in studio and gallery coordination.
