Job Description:
The Landscape Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the health, appearance, and functionality of outdoor green spaces in agricultural and aquaculture facilities in Rome. This role supports the aesthetic and environmental standards of the Agriculture & Fisheries sector by performing routine landscaping tasks across facility grounds, including gardens, access roads, drainage areas, and buffer zones.
Duties include mowing lawns, trimming hedges, pruning trees, removing weeds, and planting new vegetation as required. The worker is also responsible for the upkeep of irrigation systems, applying fertilizers and eco-friendly pest control solutions, and ensuring pathways and outdoor work areas are free from debris or hazards. Routine inspections are conducted to identify any signs of plant disease, erosion, or soil degradation.
The Landscape Maintenance Worker operates and maintains tools such as trimmers, lawnmowers, blowers, and small tractors, following safety protocols at all times. They may also assist in seasonal agricultural work during peak periods or support facility beautification projects.
This position requires a good understanding of horticultural practices and a proactive approach to environmental care. By maintaining clean, organized, and healthy landscapes, the worker contributes to the operational efficiency, safety, and visual standards of Rome’s agricultural and fisheries operations.
