Job Description:

The Cargo Operations Handler in Salmiyah is responsible for the physical handling and processing of cargo shipments in a logistics hub, airport, or seaport facility. The role involves loading, unloading, organizing, and preparing cargo for transportation, ensuring efficient and timely movement of goods.

Key responsibilities include checking cargo against manifests, tagging and labeling items, moving shipments using forklifts or pallet jacks, and assisting with cargo inspection procedures. The handler ensures that all goods are secured for transport and stored in appropriate areas to prevent damage or delays. In collaboration with warehouse supervisors and logistics coordinators, the handler supports the smooth operation of cargo transit.

The role requires strong physical stamina, attention to detail, and knowledge of cargo handling procedures. Maintaining safety standards and following protocols for fragile, hazardous, or temperature-sensitive cargo are also essential parts of the job.

Job Requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in cargo handling or warehouse operations is preferred.

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy packages regularly.

  • Familiarity with cargo safety protocols and transport documentation.

  • Skill in using pallet jacks, trolleys, and loading equipment.

  • Capable of working outdoors and in variable conditions.

  • Good coordination and teamwork skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow cargo labeling standards.

  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

  • Basic knowledge of English for reading shipping instructions.
