Job Description:
The Coating Technician in Salmiyah specializes in applying protective coatings to metal, concrete, and machinery surfaces used in heavy industry to improve durability and resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and weathering. This role includes preparing surfaces through sandblasting, degreasing, or grinding, selecting the correct coating system, and using spraying or dipping equipment to apply the product.
Technicians also conduct tests to ensure coating thickness, adhesion, and hardness meet quality standards. The role requires strict compliance with health and safety regulations and routine maintenance of coating equipment. The technician works closely with engineers and QA personnel to meet client and industry specifications.
Job Requirement:
Certification or training in industrial coating applications or materials technology.
3+ years of experience in industrial surface treatment or coating roles.
Proficiency with spray guns, dip tanks, and powder coating systems.
Familiarity with surface preparation methods such as abrasive blasting.
Knowledge of paint and coating chemistry and safety procedures.
Ability to perform quality control tests for coating performance.
Comfortable working with protective clothing and respirators.
Physically fit to handle equipment and prolonged standing.
Excellent attention to detail and adherence to specifications.
Team player with good communication and documentation skills.
