Job Description:

The AV Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of audiovisual (AV) systems in residential, corporate, hospitality, and educational settings. This role entails installing display panels, projectors, audio equipment, control systems, speakers, microphones, and associated cabling and hardware. The technician reads blueprints and AV system layouts, pulls cables, mounts and connects equipment, performs system calibrations, and ensures seamless integration with lighting and IT systems. They conduct functional testing to verify signal flow, audio clarity, visual output, and user interface operation. AV Installation Technicians also program basic control interfaces and troubleshoot common installation issues on-site. This position often involves direct interaction with clients or end-users to explain equipment use and provide training or documentation. They are responsible for documenting configurations, asset tagging, and coordinating with designers and project managers for custom requirements. As AV installations are sensitive to both aesthetics and performance, a high degree of precision and craftsmanship is expected. The technician must follow safety guidelines during installations, especially when working on ladders, ceilings, or within confined server spaces.

Job Requirement:

Education: Diploma in Electronics, Audio Engineering, or AV Technology. AVIXA CTS certification is an advantage.

Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in AV installation or system integration.

Skills: Proficiency in wiring, audio/video equipment setup, control system integration, customer communication, and spatial planning.

Other Requirements: Clean driving record, ability to lift heavy equipment, and flexibility to work evenings or weekends based on project demands.
