Job Description:
The ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Compliance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining electrostatic safety standards within electronics manufacturing environments. The technician ensures that ESD-sensitive areas, tools, workstations, and personnel comply with industry protocols such as ANSI/ESD S20.20. Responsibilities include conducting regular audits, verifying wrist strap and mat grounding systems, inspecting equipment for proper ESD-safe setup, and maintaining accurate records of inspections and incidents. The technician also provides ESD safety training to production staff, emphasizing the importance of proper handling of sensitive components and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). They play a crucial role in establishing, reviewing, and updating ESD control plans and working closely with quality and engineering teams to resolve violations or failures. In case of ESD-related product damage, the technician assists with root cause analysis and implements corrective actions. The role requires attention to minute details, technical understanding of electrical safety, and excellent communication skills to engage teams and maintain awareness. Candidates must be analytical, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a compliance team.
Job Requirement:
Education:
Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
2–3 years in electronics manufacturing with exposure to ESD control environments.
Skills:
Knowledge of ESD standards, audit procedures, troubleshooting, documentation, and training.
Other Requirements:
Certification in ESD compliance (preferred). Must wear ESD-safe attire and gear.
