Job Description:

The Motion Graphics Technician in Auckland is responsible for producing dynamic visual content that enhances digital media projects, commercials, films, and corporate communications. This role involves combining graphic design skills with animation techniques to create engaging motion graphics that tell a compelling visual story. The technician works closely with creative directors, video editors, and multimedia producers to translate concepts into animated sequences for a wide range of platforms—from television broadcast and online videos to interactive installations.

Key responsibilities include designing storyboards, preparing assets for animation, and using software tools like Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, or similar platforms to produce high-quality visuals. The role requires the technician to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to deadlines, brand guidelines, and quality standards. They will also be expected to optimize animations for different screen resolutions and media formats. Collaborative tasks include brainstorming sessions, feedback integration, and periodic reviews with the creative team to fine-tune animations or incorporate revisions.

The Motion Graphics Technician is expected to maintain a keen eye for timing, pacing, and visual harmony. This includes ensuring smooth transitions and realistic effects that synchronize with audio elements, such as voiceovers or background scores. Additionally, the technician is responsible for archiving projects, managing digital assets, and staying current with emerging trends and technologies in motion design. They may also assist in mentoring junior staff or freelancers engaged in similar creative tasks.

Job Requirement:

Candidates should have a diploma or degree in digital media, graphic design, or animation, along with 2–4 years of professional experience in motion graphics or video post-production. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator), Cinema 4D, or similar 3D animation tools is essential. A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and a variety of motion design projects is required. Attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements are critical for success in this role.
