Job Description:
The Beverage Pairing Expert in Al Rayyan is responsible for crafting exceptional dining experiences by recommending and curating beverage selections that complement menu offerings in upscale restaurants, luxury hotels, and fine dining venues. This specialist collaborates with chefs, sommeliers, and F&B managers to ensure optimal pairing of wines, mocktails, cocktails, teas, and specialty beverages with a variety of international and local cuisines.
Key responsibilities include creating beverage pairing menus, training service staff on pairing principles, conducting tastings for guests, and staying informed about new beverage trends and culinary developments. The role also requires management of beverage inventory, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring quality control of all served drinks. A refined palate, creativity in pairing suggestions, and a thorough understanding of flavor profiles are essential for success.
Job Requirement:
Education: Certification or diploma in hospitality, culinary arts, or beverage studies (e.g., WSET, mixology courses) is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in beverage pairing or fine dining beverage service roles.
Skills:
Deep knowledge of global and regional beverage varieties and food flavor profiles.
Strong sensory evaluation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to design creative and balanced beverage pairings.
Excellent communication and guest interaction skills.
Language: Proficiency in English is essential; Arabic is an advantage.
