Job Description:
The Telecom Network Engineer in Mesaieed, Qatar, is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining telecommunication networks that support seamless voice, data, and multimedia communications. This role involves configuring network equipment such as routers, switches, and multiplexers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
The engineer performs network capacity planning, monitors network traffic, and troubleshoots issues to minimize downtime. They work closely with service providers, vendors, and internal IT teams to implement upgrades, security measures, and new technologies in line with organizational goals and industry standards.
Given Qatar’s expanding telecommunication infrastructure, the role demands keeping abreast of emerging telecom technologies, including 5G, IoT integration, and cloud-based networking solutions. The Telecom Network Engineer also contributes to documentation, network security audits, and compliance with local and international regulatory requirements.
Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential to liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support business continuity and customer satisfaction. The role may require occasional off-hours work for network maintenance and upgrades.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in telecom network engineering or related roles.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of telecom protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, SIP, VoIP).
Experience with network hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with 5G, LTE, and fiber optic network technologies.
Ability to analyze network performance and implement improvements.
Proficiency with network monitoring tools and software.
Understanding of network security best practices.
Language: Proficient in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
