Job Description:

Job Title: Municipal Arborist
Location: Singapore (City)
Industry: Agriculture & Fisheries

Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and community-focused Municipal Arborist to manage and enhance the health, safety, and sustainability of Singapore’s urban trees within public parks, streetscapes, and community spaces. The Municipal Arborist will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, planting, maintenance, and preservation of trees under the jurisdiction of municipal and governmental bodies, contributing to Singapore’s “City in Nature” vision.

Key responsibilities include conducting tree inventories, risk assessments, and health evaluations to ensure the safety and longevity of public trees. The Municipal Arborist will develop tree care plans, coordinate pruning, removal, and planting activities, and ensure that all arboricultural practices comply with local regulations and best practices set by agencies like NParks and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

The role involves working closely with landscape contractors, urban planners, environmental agencies, and community stakeholders to integrate trees into urban infrastructure, promote biodiversity, and enhance green spaces. The Municipal Arborist will also respond to public inquiries, participate in heritage tree preservation, and support education and outreach programs to raise awareness about the value of urban forests.

By safeguarding and nurturing Singapore’s urban canopy, this role directly supports sustainable urban living, climate resilience, and ecological well-being in a highly urbanized environment.
