Job Description:

The 3D Printing Engineer in Sharjah is responsible for managing the design, preparation, and execution of additive manufacturing processes across various industrial applications, including prototyping, tooling, and low-volume production. This role combines technical expertise in 3D printing technologies with innovative design thinking to optimize product development and reduce time-to-market.

The engineer works closely with R&D, product design, and manufacturing teams to select appropriate materials, 3D printing techniques (such as FDM, SLS, SLA, DMLS), and equipment settings to meet specific performance and dimensional accuracy requirements. Tasks include generating 3D models using CAD software, preparing files for printing using slicing software, and monitoring the printing process to ensure consistency and quality. Post-processing tasks, including support removal, surface finishing, and dimensional verification, are also managed by this role.

Additionally, the 3D Printing Engineer develops and maintains printing protocols, troubleshoots hardware and software issues, and evaluates emerging materials and technologies for future application. They ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain documentation for traceability, quality control, and regulatory compliance. Their role supports innovation by enabling rapid iteration and low-cost development of functional prototypes, end-use parts, and customized components.

Job Requirement:

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or Materials Science is required, with 3–5 years of experience in additive manufacturing or rapid prototyping. Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion 360) and slicing software (Cura, PreForm, or Magics) is essential. Candidates must have hands-on experience with multiple 3D printing platforms and post-processing techniques. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent print jobs are necessary. Familiarity with material testing and UAE industrial design standards is a plus.
