Job Description:
The Aquatic Facility Technician in Quebec City is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of aquatic facilities, including swimming pools, hot tubs, therapy pools, and splash pads in recreational, residential, and institutional settings. The technician works closely with facility managers to ensure that all aquatic systems operate efficiently and safely while meeting provincial and municipal health regulations.
Key duties include inspecting and maintaining filtration, heating, and chlorination systems; monitoring and adjusting chemical levels; cleaning pool surfaces and surrounding areas; and ensuring water quality meets required standards. The technician is also responsible for identifying mechanical issues, performing minor repairs, coordinating service calls, and maintaining detailed maintenance logs and safety reports.
This role involves both technical and custodial tasks, and the technician may assist in training other facility staff on proper handling of pool chemicals and emergency procedures.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a Pool Operator or in Aquatic Facility Operations is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in pool maintenance, building operations, or aquatic facility management.
Skills:
Technical knowledge of pool equipment, plumbing systems, and HVAC.
Proficiency in chemical handling and water testing.
Mechanical troubleshooting and basic repair ability.
Ability to maintain logs and comply with safety protocols.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Language: Proficiency in French required; English is an asset.
