Job Description: We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor at our institution in Surrey, Canada. As an Assistant Professor, you will play a vital role in the academic department, contributing to teaching, research, and service activities. You will have the opportunity to engage with students, conduct research in your field of expertise, and contribute to the overall academic community. Key Responsibilities: Teaching: Delivering high-quality instruction to undergraduate and/or graduate students in the specific discipline or subject area. Developing course syllabi, delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and assessing student performance. Research: Conducting independent research in the field of specialization, generating new knowledge, and contributing to the advancement of the discipline. Publishing research findings in reputable academic journals and presenting at conferences. Curriculum Development: Designing and developing course curricula, instructional materials, and assessments that align with program objectives and learning outcomes. Incorporating innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student engagement and learning. Advising and Mentorship: Providing academic advising and mentorship to undergraduate and/or graduate students. Guiding students in their research projects, thesis writing, career planning, and professional development. Collaboration and Service: Collaborating with colleagues on research projects, interdisciplinary initiatives, and departmental activities. Participating in academic committees, peer review processes, and engaging in professional organizations or associations. Student Engagement: Engaging with students inside and outside the classroom, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Providing guidance and feedback to students to enhance their academic and personal growth. Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with advancements in the field, pedagogical practices, and research methodologies. Pursuing opportunities for external funding and research collaborations. Institutional Citizenship: Contributing to the overall mission and goals of the institution through active involvement in departmental and institutional activities. Demonstrating a commitment to ethical conduct, professional standards, and the promotion of diversity and inclusion. Qualifications: Education: A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in the relevant field of study is typically required. Candidates nearing completion of their doctoral degree may also be considered. Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred. Familiarity with effective instructional methods, curriculum design, and assessment strategies. Research Excellence: Demonstrated research potential or a record of scholarly publications in reputable academic journals. Ability to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field through independent research. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively convey complex ideas and concepts to students, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to establish productive relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader academic community. Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Job Requirement: Education: A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in the relevant field of study is typically required. Candidates nearing completion of their doctoral degree may also be considered. Expertise in the Field: Strong knowledge and expertise in the specific discipline or subject area related to the position. Demonstrated mastery of the subject matter through research, publications, or relevant professional experience. Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred. Ability to effectively deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, and assess student performance.
