Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing Early Childhood Assistant to join our team in Kitchener, Canada. As an Early Childhood Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the development and care of young children in an educational environment. You will work closely with teachers and educators to create a safe and engaging learning environment for children. Key Responsibilities: Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate activities and programs that promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of young children. Provide support to teachers and educators in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth. Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and bathroom breaks, ensuring the well-being and safety of children at all times. Engage children in age-appropriate play, games, and creative activities, promoting their curiosity and exploration. Support children in developing self-help skills, independence, and positive social interactions. Monitor and observe children to identify any developmental or behavioral concerns and report them to the appropriate staff members. Collaborate with the teaching team to create and maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and proper sanitation practices. Build positive relationships with parents and families, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns or questions. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education. Qualifications: Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of an early childhood education program or related field is preferred. Experience: Previous experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is desirable. Knowledge: Familiarity with early childhood development principles, theories, and best practices is beneficial. Passion for Early Childhood Education: A genuine love and passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members. Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment. Patience and Flexibility: The capacity to remain patient, calm, and adaptable in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment. First Aid and CPR Certification: Possession of valid First Aid and CPR certification is highly desirable. Vulnerable Sector Check: Successful completion of a vulnerable sector check is required.
