Job Description:

The Auto Body Panel Technician in Montreal is responsible for repairing, replacing, and restoring damaged vehicle panels and body components to factory standards. Working in auto body shops or dealership service centers, the technician ensures the cosmetic and structural integrity of vehicles following collisions or general wear and tear. This includes removing dents, cutting out damaged panels, welding or bonding new parts, and preparing surfaces for painting.

Daily duties involve reading damage reports, using body repair tools such as hammers, dollies, and hydraulic jacks, and working with sheet metal and plastic body components. The technician must also maintain accurate documentation of repairs and adhere to workplace safety and environmental standards. In Montreal, where diverse weather and road conditions can accelerate wear, panel repair expertise is in steady demand.

This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who take pride in restoring vehicles to pristine condition and ensuring customer satisfaction through precision craftsmanship.

Job Requirement:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in auto body repair is preferred.

Experience: 2–3 years of experience in vehicle body panel work or collision repair.

Skills:

Skilled in dent removal, panel replacement, and surface finishing.

Familiarity with MIG welding, plastic repair, and bonding techniques.

Knowledge of vehicle body structures and repair procedures.

Ability to interpret repair orders and technical diagrams.

Language: French required; English proficiency is an asset in bilingual Montreal.

Other Requirements:

Red Seal certification or provincial equivalent is advantageous.

Valid Québec driver’s license.

Physical ability to lift and position panels and work in varied postures.

Attention to detail and a strong focus on safety and quality.
