The Beverage Pairing Expert in Montreal specializes in creating exceptional guest experiences through expertly selected drink pairings, enhancing the overall dining experience. This role involves working closely with chefs to align beverage options—wines, spirits, cocktails, craft beers, and non-alcoholic drinks—with seasonal menus and individual guest preferences. Key responsibilities include recommending pairings to diners, maintaining beverage lists, managing supplier relationships, and training service staff in beverage knowledge and presentation. The Beverage Pairing Expert also organizes tasting events, collaborates on menu development, and ensures compliance with local alcohol service regulations. A passion for culinary arts and a deep understanding of flavor profiles are crucial for success in this role. The expert plays a critical role in ensuring that beverages elevate the taste, tone, and style of every meal.

Job Requirement:

Certification in Wine & Beverage Studies (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, or similar)

At least 2–3 years of experience in food and beverage service, preferably in upscale dining

Comprehensive knowledge of beverage categories and flavor pairings

Strong communication and guest service skills

Experience in training and mentoring staff

Familiarity with Quebec’s alcohol laws and service protocols

Bilingual (French and English) preferred

Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail with a passion for food and beverage trends

Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
