Job Description:
The Radiator Rebuild Specialist is responsible for the inspection, refurbishment, and rebuilding of automotive radiators to restore efficient heat dissipation and cooling system performance. Based in Montreal’s dynamic automotive service sector, the specialist works with a variety of vehicles, including passenger cars, light trucks, and industrial vehicles, often addressing issues caused by corrosion, blockage, or mechanical wear.
Key duties include dismantling radiators, pressure testing for leaks, repairing or replacing damaged cores and tanks, and reassembling and testing rebuilt units. The role may also involve custom fabrication of radiator components for vintage or modified vehicles, as well as working with aluminum, copper-brass, and plastic models. The specialist uses specialized welding tools, brazing torches, and cleaning tanks in a workshop setting.
This role is essential for maintaining engine cooling efficiency, particularly in Montreal’s varying climate, and contributes to prolonging engine life and reducing breakdown risks. Attention to detail, safety adherence, and commitment to high repair standards are vital.
Job Requirement:
Education: Trade certification or diploma in automotive repair or mechanical technology; radiator repair training preferred.
Experience: 2–4 years in automotive radiator or cooling system repair.
Skills:
Proficiency in brazing, soldering, and pressure testing.
Understanding of heat transfer principles and coolant flow.
Skilled in handling cleaning solutions and operating rebuild equipment.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and radiator schematics.
Language: French and basic English required for communication in bilingual Montreal workplaces.
