Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Circular Knitting Technician to support our textile manufacturing operations in Cologne. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining circular knitting machines used in the production of fabric tubes and seamless garments. You will work closely with the production team to ensure consistent fabric quality and optimal machine performance.
Your duties will include calibrating machine settings, threading yarns, monitoring machine operation, and making real-time adjustments to ensure defect-free outputs. You will also perform routine inspections, resolve yarn breaks or tension issues, and carry out preventive maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime. As a technical expert, you will collaborate with supervisors to meet production quotas while maintaining fabric quality standards.
A deep understanding of knit structures, yarn properties, and machine mechanics is crucial to succeeding in this role. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail. Job Requirement:
Candidates must have completed vocational training or hold a technical diploma in textiles, mechanical operations, or a related discipline. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience operating circular knitting machines in an industrial setting is required. Familiarity with both single jersey and double jersey machines will be highly advantageous.
Applicants should possess strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical drawings and fabric specifications, and a solid understanding of yarn types, stitch density, and tension adjustments. Experience with electronic control panels and automated systems is preferred. A keen eye for fabric defects and the capability to troubleshoot common machine issues independently are essential.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, good manual dexterity, and the ability to lift moderate loads are also expected. Fluency in German or English, along with basic computer literacy for machine data input and reporting, is desirable.
