Job Description:
We are seeking a Compliance Counsel in Cologne to serve as a key advisor on corporate compliance programs spanning data privacy, anti-bribery, corporate governance, and sanctions. You will lead policy development, advisory services, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
Your role will involve collaborating with internal teams, conducting compliance risk mapping, and delivering training to employees. You will manage whistleblower processes, oversee incident response protocols, and ensure compliance documentation is audit-ready. You also act as a trusted advisor to senior management and contribute to enhancing the ethical culture of the organization.
Job Requirement:
A legal degree qualified in Germany (Zweites Staatsexamen or equivalent) with 4–7 years of experience as a compliance lawyer or adviser, ideally in-house or at top-tier law firms. You must have strong knowledge of GDPR, UK Bribery Act, U.S. FCPA, and relevant EU regulations.
Experience conducting internal investigations, compliance audits, and incident management is required. You should excel in stakeholder communication, training facilitation, and policy drafting. Certification in Compliance (e.g., CCEP) is preferred. German and English fluency is essential. Familiarity with compliance management systems or governance tools is advantageous. Rigorous, ethical mindset with the ability to provide practical guidance in complex business scenarios is essential.
