Job Description:
The Field Pump Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of agricultural water pumps and irrigation systems in field environments. Working under the Agriculture and Fisheries sector in Qurain, Kuwait, the mechanic ensures the efficient operation of pumps used for crop irrigation, aquaculture water circulation, and livestock watering systems. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and performing emergency repairs on-site.
Key duties include inspecting pump performance, replacing worn or damaged parts, lubricating components, aligning drive shafts, and calibrating flow rates. The mechanic will also be expected to work with diesel, electric, and solar-powered pump systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Routine tasks may include pipe fitting, pressure testing, and coordination with farm managers and irrigation technicians.
Candidates must be capable of working independently in various weather conditions and remote agricultural sites. Clear documentation of maintenance records and effective communication with the operations team is required.
