Job Description:

The Animation Storyboard Lead in Umm Salal, Qatar, is responsible for visualizing and translating scripts into compelling storyboard sequences that guide animation production. This role is central to storytelling, ensuring that each scene flows coherently and creatively through visuals that reflect character motion, emotion, camera angles, and pacing.

Key duties include collaborating with directors, scriptwriters, and animators to conceptualize scene layouts and narrative beats. The lead oversees junior storyboard artists, providing creative direction and ensuring deadlines and stylistic consistency are met. The role also involves refining boards based on feedback, preparing animatics, and occasionally assisting in pitch presentations to clients or executives.

Working in Qatar’s expanding animation and digital content sector, the Animation Storyboard Lead helps shape world-class animated content for television, film, educational media, or games.

Job Requirement:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Illustration, Film, or related field.

Experience: 5+ years in animation production with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead storyboard role.

Skills:

Expert-level drawing and visual storytelling skills.

Proficiency in storyboard software (e.g., Storyboard Pro, Photoshop).

Understanding of cinematic techniques, character acting, and timing.

Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.

Language: Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.

Other Requirements:

Portfolio of storyboard sequences showing narrative clarity and dynamic composition.

Familiarity with both 2D and 3D animation workflows.

Strong communication and feedback-processing skills.
