Job Description:
The Apparel Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing clothing lines or individual garments, focusing on aesthetics, functionality, and market trends in Al Khor, Qatar. This role involves researching fashion trends, sketching designs, selecting fabrics and trims, and creating technical specifications for production. Key duties include developing mood boards, producing detailed flats and technical drawings, overseeing pattern making, and guiding the sample creation process to ensure designs are translated accurately.
The designer will work closely with pattern makers, production teams, and marketing departments to ensure the timely and successful launch of collections. This position requires strong creative vision, technical proficiency in garment construction, and a keen understanding of target consumer preferences. The Apparel Designer plays a vital role in shaping fashion identities and contributing to the dynamic apparel industry in Al Khor and the broader Qatari market.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience as an Apparel Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing original garment designs, technical flats, and conceptual work.
Skills:
Expert proficiency in fashion design software: (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lectra, Optitex, CLO 3D).
Strong sketching and illustration skills (both hand and digital).
In-depth knowledge of textiles, fabrics, and garment construction techniques.
Understanding of fashion trends, market analysis, and consumer behavior.
Ability to create detailed technical specifications (tech packs) for manufacturing.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Language: Fluency in English is essential; Arabic is a plus.
