Job Description:
The Arc Welder in Lusail is responsible for performing welding tasks using manual or semi-automatic arc welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal structures and components as per engineering drawings and quality standards. The role involves preparing materials, selecting appropriate electrodes or filler rods, adjusting equipment settings, and executing precise welding techniques to join various types of metals such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Key responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and technical instructions; cleaning and preparing workpieces; inspecting welds for accuracy and strength; and adhering to safety and environmental protocols. The Arc Welder may also be required to perform grinding, cutting, or pre-heating of materials and collaborate with fitters, fabricators, and supervisors to complete project requirements on time.
This is a hands-on role requiring manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in both workshop and outdoor industrial settings.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma with a welding certification from a recognized technical institute.
Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in arc welding within a manufacturing, shipbuilding, or industrial environment.
Skills:
Proficient in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), with knowledge of MIG/TIG welding as a plus.
Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, symbols, and procedures.
Skilled in using grinders, cutters, and measuring tools for quality assurance.
Familiarity with different metals and their welding characteristics.
Strong hand-eye coordination and welding precision.
Language: Basic English proficiency for reading safety instructions and communicating with team members.
Other Requirements:
Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and working in hot, confined spaces.
Willingness to wear PPE and follow strict safety practices.
Understanding of welding codes and inspection standards relevant in Qatar.
Ability to pass welding qualification tests if required by clients or contractors.
